How to choose a resort

The key questions are budget and transfer type. Islands near Malé are reached by speedboat (30–60 min), remote ones by seaplane (one of the most beautiful parts of the trip). A beach villa is cheaper and more convenient with children; an overwater villa is the romantic classic.

Meals and prices

There is practically no food outside the resort in the Maldives, so HB (half board) or All Inclusive is actually more economical. We calculate the full budget with transfers and taxes so there are no surprises.
