Egypt visa for Georgian citizens — what you need to know in 2026
Visa on arrival, e-Visa online, passport validity, children and the most common mistakes at the border.

In short
Georgian citizens need a tourist visa for Egypt, but it is issued on arrival at the airport — no prior application, interview or embassy.
Visa on Arrival
- Cost: 25 USD (cash, ideally the exact amount)
- Validity: 30 days, single entry
- Where: bank windows at Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Cairo airports before passport control
- What you need: passport valid for at least 6 months, return ticket, hotel booking (rarely asked, but have it)
e-Visa online
The alternative is an electronic visa on the official site visa2egypt.gov.eg, 25 USD, processed within 7 days. Handy if you don't want to queue, but the airport visa is just as simple.
Children
Children need a visa on the same terms. If a child travels with one parent, bring the other parent's notarised consent — Egypt rarely asks, but the Georgian border often does.
Common mistakes
- Passport valid for less than 6 months — you won't be allowed to fly.
- Travelling with an ID card — Egypt requires a passport.
- Damaged passport — Egyptian border control is strict.
In every Caroline Travel package we go through the visa procedure in detail before departure, and our representative meets you at the airport.
